For My Neighbor
A downloadable game
You all belong to the same neighborhood. Over the years, you've formed bonds and created memories. Sometimes, there are conflicts. No matter what, you're a community. You might even say, a family. There's also something unique about your neighborhood: you never call the police. But one night, you're woken up by a commotion across the street. Something strange is going on. Will you help your neighbor?
For My Neighbor is a print-and-play game based on For the Queen, product of Alex Roberts and Evil Hat Productions, and licensed for our use under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.
This game is designed to help brainstorm intervention strategies that do not involve police interference. Each player lives in the same neighborhood, which you will build together by responding to the prompts provided on the cards. The world will develop as you engage with one another as well as with a non-playable neighbor (referred to on the cards as Mx. __________) who often needs your help. For My Neighbor allows players to explore nice and not-so-nice neighborly interactions and discuss strategies for responding to non-emergency disturbances by using roleplaying as a gateway to a conversation we often don't have with our neighbors.
The deck includes:
- Clear instructions built right into the deck
- 18 digitally-rendered portraits of neighbors of different genders, ages, and ethnicities to use as inspiration
- 49 prompt cards exploring your character's life, relationships, and beliefs
- A page of blank cards so you can add your own prompts
- An X card to remove content you don't want to include in the game
